Timing makes a difference when you are passing out tracts! –Especially with cashiers. I really like this purse because I can quickly reach in the front flap, grab a tract, and say, “…and here’s something for you!” when the cashier gives me my receipt.
I also like this purse because I can fit so much stuff in it (as I was explaining to my dad and brother this morning, who didn’t seem to quite relate…).
Anyway, a friend from Living Waters recommended this to me, and I wanted to pass along the recommendation. Sometimes I’ve missed a good opportunity just because I couldn’t dig out a gospel tract fast enough. –But not with this purse!
So when we buy purses, let’s think “fishing” more than we think “fashion!”
Some good advise! Thanks for sharing it:) Where did you the get purse from?
I have a purse with a pocket like that but I couldn’t decide what to put in there… now I know… Thanks! 🙂
Desiree, I bought it at Target for $10 in April.
God bless!
Grace
Thanks for sharing Grace! I can’t wait to go shopping now! 🙂 I was just talking about how I need something to hold all of my tracts!
Grace,
My brother and father don’t quite understand either! 🙂 But purses like that are so much easier to work with..especially at church because you can put your bible inside a pocket and have your hands free more of the time…
You make me smile! I am soo glad that you are sharing God’s Word and his love soo joyfully love you girl
Love Supriya
Thanks for the helpful tip, Grace!
Yes…it is tricky to pull out a tract quickly, but this tip is really helpful!
I’m excited to try this new witnessing idea! 🙂
Joyfully in Jesus,
Elizabeth
Thanks and I remembered I have a purse something like that, I will have to use it!
Thanks, Grace! What a wonderful idea! $10? At Target? Wow, you seem to have better findings than I do at that store! 🙂 Thank you.
Hello Grace! This is Annie from the NICHE conference. I listened to your session “How to Start a Bright Lights Group,” and I just wanted to say that I was very greatly encouraged by what you or Sarah mentioned about “God doesn’t call the qualified; he qualifies the called.” Thank you!
Cute purse! And so practical, too. I have been carrying tracts with me recently, but my purse is too small and they sometimes wrinkled. That pocket is very handy. Currently I am working on sewing a large bag for carrying books (and tracts!) I have a question…where do you get your tracts? Do you have different ones or all the same?
I am studying “The Way of the Master” with my parents and some of our family friends. I am very excited to begin to witness! Your stories and testimonies have inspired me.
Thanks for all you are doing!
Blessings,
~Annie~
Hi Annie,
Thanks for the note and encouragement!
You asked where I got tracts. Sometimes we write our own, but recently I have been mostly passing out Way of the Master tracts. My favorites are the 10 Commandments Coins and Coin Holders and the Green IQ Quiz’s with the triangles on the front. (I find the green ones work great for striking up a conversation, esp. with kids. I do the quiz on the front and ask them the questions on the back.)
Another tract I like to use is one by Randy Alcorn called “How can we know that we’ll go to Heaven” (http://stores.homestead.com/eternalperspectiveministries/Detail.bok?no=124)
Oh yes–and about wrinkling. I know what you mean!
When I jog or ride my bike, I like to carry the 10 Commandments Coins in my pocket…because coins don’t wrinkle. 🙂
But before I had the purse I have now (which keeps the tracts pretty well in the flap) I used a navy tract wallet that I purchased from the Way of the Master online store.
God bless you as you serve Him. Happy sewing — hope your purse turns out!
Grace
Hi Grace! I was wondering about the 10 commandments coin. I would like to get some but from the research I’ve done it looks like their about $10.00 EACH! Where do you get yours? Surely you don’t pay that for them, do you? Thanks!
Oh…I had one more question… I also was wondering where I could find “The Way of the Master tracts”. Do you buy them? Or download them? I would really like to find out. Thanks again!
Hi Hannah, You must have been looking at something different.
1) Go to http://www.livingwaters.com (Way of the Master and Living Waters are the same company)
2) Click on “store”
3) Click on “tracts”
When you scroll down, you’ll see the silver coins and coin holders. You can buy a package of 50 coins for $7.20, and a 100 coin holders for the same price. (So, obviously, I normally purchase 2 packages of coins and one package of coin holders.) If you keep scrolling down, you’ll see the IQ quiz’s. As I mentioned before, my favorite is the green one with the triangles.
May God bless you as you serve Him! 🙂 Let me know if you have any other questions.
-Grace
That is such a neat idea! It is also a very cute purse. 🙂
Thank you so much Grace! The reason I was confused if because when you go to the store it doesn’t tell you that there are 50 in the pack until you click on it. So thanks again!
Dear Grace,
Thank you for replying! I will have to look into getting some of the tracts you recommended. Also, a tract wallet seems like a very useful item to have!
Our Way of the Master study is going well so far and I am very eager to start witnessing using the survey approach. I am praying for strength and courage, as I am not very out-going – especially with total strangers. I am more of a shy, quiet person, although my friends would tell you otherwise. 🙂
Thanks again for being such a godly role model!
In Christ,
~Annie~
Hi Grace!
Thanks for sharing that ! I was wondering how you should witness to a cashier because you usally have so little time to talk to them. I really appreciate your witnessing stories! 🙂
“I recently found out about the” way of the mastor” and I am learning alot! Those tracts look really good! I was trying to pick which ones I should get and now I know!
Thank you for all you do ! You are such an encouragement to me!
Love,Hannah
Thank you for the mention of the bug card tracts and the link! I just ordered a couple sets and can’t wait to use them!
