In this session, Sarah shares six lessons the Lord has taught her about trusting the Lord in the area of singleness. It was recorded for Bright Lights leaders especially, but is recommended for single women of all ages.

1. Do not Underestimate God’s Grace
God is the One who gives the power for whatever He calls us to do! (2 Corinthians 12:9)

2. Ask the Lord to Increase Your Faith
God’s plan is perfect and His timing is perfect! We can trust Him! (Jeremiah 32:27)

3. Speak the Truth in Your Heart
There are many wrong thoughts that girls believe about singleness. We need to know the truth and not listen to the lies. (I Peter 1:13)

4. Don’t be Afraid to Call it a Trial!
Trials come in all shapes and sizes. We can be honest about the struggle, but Scripture tells us what to do when we have a trial: rejoice!
(I Peter 1:6-7)

5. Don’t Minimize Earthly Desires, Maximize Heavenly Ones!
It’s not wrong to desire marriage. The problem isn’t that we desire marriage too much—it’s that we don’t desire Christ enough!
(Philippians 3:7-8)

6. Pour Yourself Out for Others
Serving the Lord and others is the key to overcoming discouragement and self–pity. The time of singleness is extremely valuable for Christ’s kingdom. (Isaiah 58:10-11)
