We are still alive and doing well here at the Bright Lights office. Sarah Smith and Abby Kramer joined us a few weeks ago.

There are always so many different things going on around here, it’s hard to give an accurate report!
Some of you may be wondering what we do here at the Bright Lights office, so I’ll give you a vague outline. Every morning, Sarah and my dad and I have been working on writing projects. During that time, the β€œinterns”, Sarah K and Abby, have been doing various studies that Sarah has outlined for them.
After lunch, we focus more on office details. This includes e-mails and correspondence, planning and scheduling, and processing and shipping orders. These things take a lot of time, so we are very grateful for the help from our interns (and Nickie, of course πŸ™‚ ).
The bookstore we are setting up in the front area of the Bright Lights office has also been an exciting and challenging adventure. Lots of progress has been made, but there is a lot more to do. There are so many decisions to make and items to purchase–and this is all so new to us–so we are sort of operating by going from one answered prayer to the next. πŸ™‚ We are hoping to open in about a month.
Other recent projects have included working the Bright Lights CD and songbook, several encouraging times of witnessing together, and a Desktop Publishing class taught by Stephen.

  1. Yay! Thanks for the intern post πŸ™‚ I loved hearing what this internship is like. Sounds like you’re getting a lot accomplished. Now I miss you all and working in the office…
    Love,
    Hannah
P.S. Sarah Katherine, you have my old cubicle! πŸ™‚

  2. Oh my goodness! Look at those doors! πŸ™‚ I wondered where you all were standing for a second (in the picture of Nickie, Abby and Sarah) and then I realized that it was the BL office. They look great! Lots of light coming in! πŸ™‚

It is nice to see pictures of Abby and Sarah. πŸ™‚ The new interns are finally unmasked and announced to the public!

And it is exciting to hear that the bookstore is almost ready! Have you thought of a name for it yet?

I hope that things go well for you all today!
    Joyfully, Mary

  3. Well, I wondered where in the world you had gone, Grace! πŸ™‚ So glad to read this nice post and see the pictures! Tell Abby and Nickie hi!
I prayed for you all this morning while I was out watering the lawn. πŸ™‚

    Love you all!

  4. Aw, nice to hear from you guys! πŸ™‚ I know, I know, I sort of forsook the blog for a little while. I’ll try to do better. Mary, glad you noticed the doors! They make an amazing difference inside…it’s so much more bright. You’ll have to come back and see. No, I don’t think we have a name yet…any suggestions?

  5. Hi Grace! I was so glad to get an update on what’s going on–I wondered how y’all were doing up there! Sounds like things are going great with the building and internships and all. I wish I could come up for a while but my schedule won’t allow it at this point (leading BL, teaching piano, and participating in a weekly Bible study an hour away)! Hope all goes well and many blessings to you all~
