After my dad and I picked out and cut down our Christmas tree this afternoon, we began talking about how we should witness to the guy who was working there. We thought that a good strategy for getting into a conversation would be to ask what he thought the second coming of Jesus would be like.

After my dad tied the tree to the top of our vehicle, he remembered he never paid for the tree. 🙂

When he went to pay, he asked his question about the second coming and they ended up talking for 10 – 15 minutes. I joined part way through.

“How’d that conversation go?” I asked dad as we were pulling away.
“Great,” Dad said.
As he began to explain the story to me, I pulled out my camera and started recording, hoping it might spark some new idea for others who might get into discussion this Christmas.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing these various ideas about sharing Christ!
    I Cor 15:58

  2. Thanks for sharing this, Grace, it’s very encouraging. We should all take every opportunity we can to share God’s truth, because the days are short.

  3. Grace, may I ask what type of recorder you are using? I may be interested in recording a few testimony’s from others like that myself.

    1. Hey Chris,
I was just using my camera actually, on video mode. I have a Cannon G16. Of course, if you really want good audio you’d want something that you can plug in an external mic to, and the G16 can’t do that. But for simple non-professional stuff, I think the audio is good enough generally. I think Tony has an external mic that works with an iphone? You could check with him on that if you want to get his advice perhaps if you want better audio without all the background noise. My recording turned out pretty good because we were in our vehicle and there wasn’t too much background noise. But in public settings sometimes there is more background noise than you realize until you watch the video later.

  4. Wow, what an encouragement. I have been looking and praying for ways to witness. What an answer to prayer! Thank you so much Grace. This is AMAZING!
