Chicago Bible Quizzing Tournament

finals-2.jpg

Last Saturday, Sarah and my dad accompanied me to my last WBQA Bible Quizzing Tournament of the year. The tournaments are always intense, very competitive, and lots of pressure…. but also enjoyable (at times). ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s like a sport, except it’s mental and not physical. Quizzers have to build their “memory muscles” to contain lots of God’s Word.

I love Bible Quizzing! (As my family knows, I donโ€™t say that when Iโ€™m cramming right before a tournamentโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™‚ ) but really, I am SO grateful for the way quizzing has helped me to memorize Godโ€™s word and for the way my parents have enouraged me to involved. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

  1. Oooh, looks like fun Grace! That would be a wonderful way to memorize God’s word. And I remember you practicing Acts at Harmony. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. We do that here too, Grace! I loved quizzing over the last three years! Quizzing is SO much fun and its a GREAT way to memorize! I absolutely loved Hebrews, 1 and 2 Peter. Have you ever met Matt West? He is the Florida coordinator and a friend of mine. It’s so cool to know you quiz too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hey, Katie (this is Katie, right?) It’s neat to find out that you are involved in Bible Quizzing, too. ๐Ÿ™‚ Yeah, I really enjoyed memorizing Hebrews and 1 and 2 Peter as well! Memorizing something really causes you to understand it better, doesn’t it?
Will you be at the FPEA convention in May? Maybe I’ll see you there. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Love,
    Grace

  4. I would love to do Bible Quizzing. I know it would be lots of hard work but I think it’s a great way to “hide God’s Word in my heart.” I took a steadfast test once on 108 verses that I had to memorize, but that was a one time thing (as in after you do it, you can’t do it again).
Thank you so much for sharing. It sounds like it went great. You look very focused in the pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Hey, Grace,

Sarah and I used to do AWANA Bible quizzes with several other churches from around the state. We really enjoyed it, too, but I think that what you do is a lot harder and more intense!! We just memorized say, 30 or so verses from different parts of the Bible and then did multiple choice and speed quizzes–we had to push a button and every time, would you believe this, Sarah hit it before I did and consequently got quizzing champion for our age category. Shucks.

Well, for all of you BL leaders who have been through this…our next lesson is Clearing Your Conscience!!! Please pray for all my BL girls so that they would understand it and that God would prepare their hearts!! We did Developing a Close Relationship With Your Parents last week and they all gave me these looks like, “You’ve got to be kidding!!! I’m supposed to work on my relationship with my PARENTS?!?!?!?!?” I’m sure those of you who have taught that lesson can understand!!

    Blessings to all of you,
    Rebekah

  6. Well, just wanted to let you know (if anyone saw this comment and prayed!) that the meeting went better than expected. How/if the girls actually apply it is up to the Lord!

    Thanks for your prayers,
    Rebekah

  7. Hey everyone! I went to one of your conference sessions recently (sarah and grace) – actually many of your sessions =) – and I just wanted to tell you what an encouragement they were to me! You guys are great Godly examples of how a woman should live her life, and you inspire me! I’m so blessed by your guys’ ministry. God bless!
