Birthday Party In a Bus

Last weekend we suprised Chelsy Bontrager for her birthday. Her sister, Allison, did a fabulous job planning the whole event and Chelsy was completely surprised. We spent most of the time in their bus. (Their family has a really neat singing ministry and are “on tour” about a third of the year.)

Allison treated all of us to lots of great snacks…coffee drinks, biscotti, chocolate…

Most of us haven’t seen each other since the last Bright Lights conference trip, but we always pick up right where we left off. Encouraging fellowship with like-minded girls is special. Although most of us live hours apart, we’ve grown close through doing ministry together. (When you think about it, that’s really one of the best ways to become closer as brothers and sisters in Christ.)

The girls helped me by “rating” the cartoons my dad has drawn so far for my book and giving suggestions. [smile] Pictured above are Lilly and Allison.

Before the girls from out of town headed home, we had them over to our house for lunch after church.

  2. What fun! Chelsy was my Radiant Purity leader last year and is such an encouragement to me. =)Chels and Allison are such a blessing to me…as are all of you lovely Bright Lights ladies! Looks like you had a delightful surprise time. 🙂

  3. Aw! Looks like lots of fun! Glad ya’all got to get together again! Happy Birthday, Chelsy!

  4. Grace, just wanted to let you know… Our BL group is going Christmas caroling tonight (and our second group is going tomorrow night!) and as I was putting together our Christmas cards to hand out, I realized that we were all out of Christmas tracts! (We usually give hand-made Christmas cards with a tract inside) I was just thinking, “The nearest Christian book store is too far away to run out for more now and I don’t have time to write something… but Grace probably has something on her website!!!” Thanks for being so reliable! The Christmas Quiz and Prince of Peace are printing now and I’m excited to give them out as we go caroling. 🙂

    Thanks again and Merry Christmas!!

  5. Awww… thanks, Jenny! Praise the Lord. That’s great about the caroling, too. We went with our group on Monday and had an awesome time.
Tell your girls not to forget to think about the words to the songs and smile when they sing! 🙂
